Essential for shooters July 19, 2010 R. Johnson (UT) If you shoot a high capacity automatic pistol, you really need one of these. I've bought several to use as gifts. You can reload faster and with much less hand fatigue. Get one.
Works like a Charm July 5, 2010 John Cornelson (Gainesville, GA USA) I've used this loader on 1911A1, 45 cal XD and Glock 40 Cal. It has been superb in rapidly loading all these types of magazines. Far superior to the loaders which came with the weapons (or in the case of the 1911A1 no loader at all)
Truly a great product. June 9, 2010 Dave (Franklin, TN) Yes, this loader will load your magazines quickly and almost effortlessly when compared to hand loading. I bought one of these about two years ago to use with my Glock 19 for which I have 15 and 33 round magazines. It makes short work of both. I recently bought a 9 mm carbine and was loading it by hand and then decided to try the UpLULA loader. It worked perfectly even though this single row magazine is much thinner than the double row Glocks. The design of the carbine magazine is also significanlt different. Given that this loader works so well on two very different magazine designs, I would say that its advertisement as a universal loader is highly likely to be true. I am sure you will be happy that you bought one. You can also make friends at the range by letting them try yours. They will surely buy their own after that and thank you. I saw one review that reduced the rating on this loader by one star because he thought the price was a high. This device saves you so much time and effort that you would have to value your time at closed to $0 for you to feel this loader was not worth every penny. I would think that the design, engineering and performance of this loader could support an even larger selling price. As you can guess, I recommend this product highly provided you have a gun(s) that uses magazines.
So Simple, So Effective! June 2, 2010 C. O. Dickerson (Mission Hills, CA) I am a brand new pistol owner. At 60 years old I finally purchased my first pistol for home protection and peace-of-mind. I excitedly took my new 9mm Smith & Wesson to a target range and fired away with abandon. It did not take long before I realized that all was not sunshine and lollipops. I live in California where the legal maximum mag for any gun sold in this state is 10 rounds even though the mags are originally designed to hold 16 rounds each for most other states. I pre-loaded the two mags that came with my new protection before leaving for the range from home and didn't think too much of it. Twenty rounds, big deal. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to guess how long it takes to fire twenty rounds from a semi-automatic pistol, right? Just a single standard box of ammo is 50 rounds. I had two boxes. By the end of the 1st box I was tired and annoyed by re-loading. By the middle of the 2nd box, my fingertips had become sensitive and sore loading those two mags. Geez, I thought, what a downer to the shooting experience. Do all shooters do this? Today, a kindly gentleman shooting about 10 feet from me introduced himself and engaged me not only in pleasant conversation, but decided that I looked like the neophyte I was, and offered some shooting tips. He was great. He also owned the Lula mag loader for his various pistols and told me it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Boy was he right! He showed me how to use it, and it was heaven. I'm a new shooter and didn't even know that something like this even existed. Thank goodness I found out only my 2nd time out. As soon as I got home I hopped on the computer and lo and behold found this item on Amazon.com $7 cheaper than my local gun shop (which was sold out) or any place else on the web. I love Amazon! I am so looking forward to my little gadgets' arrival within the week.
If you practice, you need it. May 6, 2010 Currahee (South Mississippi) This is even better than the AR MagLULA, even though it won't unload magazines, as loading pistol mags is so much more of a pain. In the old days after a 150 round pistol match or a day at the range my thumbs would be sore; not the case anymore! Like its AR predecessor the pistol MagLULA is easy to use and well built. A couple of notes though, I understand this won't work with some pistol mags- check that it's what you need. Also, there is a little button on the side that locks it closed for storage, not having read the directions (they are so simple) I tripped it by accident and thought it was broken for a few minutes.
