It's a Mat August 2, 2010 The Big Guy (Pittsford, NY USA) It's a mat. It cost [...] bucks. It gives you a soft place to lay your gun when cleaning it (although if you clean guns often, you really should invest in a good stand like the Tipton for $[...]).
It doesn't last forever and some of the harsher chemicals cause it to deteriorate if you don't rinse them off. If this happens and you don't feel like rinsing, let the mat wear out and buy another one for ten bucks.
Not much else to be said about a inexpensive mat ...
It's a mat. July 24, 2010 Mike242 (NJ) Not much to say. It's a mat. It rolls and unrolls. Will help keep you from denting your table. Cleaned 5 guns on it in a row and it didn't leak through.
Cleaning Pad July 19, 2010 Les Lackofi (Louisville, Kentucky United States) Simple product for a simple chore. Haven't used it yet but it fits my cleaning table to a "T". I'm sure it will do what they say it does.
Nice but weird size July 11, 2010 Paul Garland (El Paso, Texas USA) Far too long for a handgun and much too short for most rifles.
Other than that it is nice.
You get what you pay for... April 19, 2010 Mark Trenden (US) I bought one of these from my neighborhood sporting goods super store and after only a few uses it began to fall apart. There is even a notice on the back of the mat telling the user to wash the mat right after using it because cleaning chemicals can destroy it (not the exact wording). So, I buy a cleaning mat for my shotgun only to find out that the cleaning chemicals I use on it will destroy it???
I ordered one of these Mossberg Shotgun Gun Cleaning Mat here on Amazon and they are way more durable!
Don't waste your money on this mat unless you plan on never using cleaning chemicals on it. I suppose it would be a good resting place for your gun at the shooting range or something.
